Give and Take.

All compromise is based on give and take,                but there can be no give and take on fundamentals.                          Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender.             For it is all give and no take   ~Mahatma Gandhi~ For all the walks we make in life; tire and wear, toiling at most, we have always thought that in everything that we have to give, we must take. Most times we hide behind shadows. Our complete reflection hidden from the public view. Even we ourselves cannot see it. Be it success, failure, frustration, name it. Putting on a false veil, well, in a bid to cover that what we hold on to; failure? maybe, but mostly ego. So, to the world that hands a life, and takes another, balance of nature, it's been coined; where veil still re...

Treasures

I had taken flight, gone to the winds and yes, tried to remain a little inconspicuous. How long has it been, 4? 5 months? Feels good to settle back, to the cushions, to the limitless coffee and to the random stirrings of the mind. "Treasures are hidden behind pages of manuscripts; a vast collection of whims, lessons, and directions, not withheld, but wholeheartedly given, for your eyes, mind, and soul" Just finished reading two brilliantly written s equels by Morgan Rice, Arena one and two . And another double sequel, The Belgariad and the Malloreon by David Eddings. Oh boy! It took me some time, well, for pages turners, full of fictional aura, irresistible to the mind, edgy to its best! A mixed bag of emotions hastened the experience. As an introvert, I never thought this could be a factor, pretty damning as it sounds. Relating to the present society, I saw familiar streaks. Each and everyone has been born into a certain environment, and regardless of the prevail...

Just an Albatross.

The turquoise down below, made my stomach churn, a candid echo of what has been tearing my insides a part. I love travelling, flying is my favorite. I hate sailing. The first time I went deep sea fishing, off the coast of San Diego, I threw up until there was nothing left in my bowels. My sadness is hollowness. It mirrors cancer, eating up the body from under the skin. I can't tell you what's worse. The hollowness, at times is a shell, holding in a thousand oceans of thoughts and doubts. Sometimes though, it holds hundred pieces of glass, wedged in between my soul and body. That's undoubtedly the pain. Many times though, like when I first broke a bone in my body; the ankle, it brought a calming feel. I felt no pain, and kept mutedly gazing at the weird angle of my left leg. Or when my favorite dog, the only friend I had, died and I felt no remorse. I just stood there. Watched the fresh soil, where he'd gone under, lifeless. Or even when my classmates laughed at a j...

Seasons Timeline

Seasons fade in and out like soft lullabies, their transitions slow but never faltering. Like mother earth herself they only turn in one direction, always onward, never back. As they wax and wane the pace of life changes. During the holidays, everyone is high energy, all systems go. With the first touch of new years, and well into the crisp feel moving over the high-rises and suburbia like a shallow wave, a  quieter  pace sets in. Dry winter sets in, flatter still, but never falling into a negative spin, dust and snarling  traffic. Town-folk are recovering from spending sprees.  Then spring comes to wake the  intermittent downpours, dirty streets and gloomy skies.sprouting grass , trees and blooms.  The seasons come and go like old friends. They bring memories of seasons past and the promise of seasons to come. They dance by us changing gradually in their back and forth way, two steps forward and one step back. And like time itself we cannot halt th...

Stand in The Light

Stand in the light, where courage is true. Where tempest is seen at day, where truth is clear. I haven't done a piece this year, a sleep to wake maybe? Every passing of a day, a week at most, and there a vocal masterpiece that we fail not to fall in love with. Not left out, I came across a lyrical genius; one that inter-twines vocals and brilliancy. One word for it!  Magnum opus!

Konfused

Wrapping up this year with a myriad of questions. I remember the previous new year, all the commitments that I vowed to keep, the resolutions that I swore to fulfill and yeah, this weight loss program that I have been planning to join, since I don't know when. I flip my 2015 diary chuckling to myself. I would not call it ignorance or laziness, but will describe it as a way that we humans try to accept our shortcomings. Day in day out, we get out of our homes, with set goals and iron-determination to achieve something by the end of that day. Half way through, our strength wanes, then flickers again after lunch break. With dropping mouths, heavy-laden bowels and sleep-deprived eyes, we try to pick up pace. Only to veer off to Facebook, Instagram to do uble-t ap , maybe. From time to time peering at that huge clock on the wall, waiting for the clock to strike five. Home and away, we jostle on the streets, heads ringing having barely completed half of what we'd set for the day. I...

Contention

Sleep failed me, I shuffled my cards but, a mnesia wasn't one of them. I have been under wraps for sometime now. A life cycle, I have to call it; cocoon stage is pretty nasty at that. I feared the light of day and cowered behind shadows of self piety. I rocked back and forth in darkness mauling huge chunks of fear. Every approaching footsteps of opportunity was too condescending and deafening, and often made me peer into the blinding light, with a tiptoe.  Neighbors next door, whispered, that a forlorn spirit had possessed me, I could hear frightened murmurs and naysays when I collected enough courage to walk out, or so I thought. (This goes out to all those who think they are freaks; talk and smile alone, notwithstanding). There is this huge dark cloud, that started out in the horizon as a tiny wisp of an imaginary shape. I dismissed it to be some bloke burning charcoal or sending a smoke signal to some primitive chap, maybe. Drawing closer, with time, it took the shape ...
