Life.

"Life, which is what we call it, Life that is how we say it…" That part of us that we’ve never understood; often more than once, we confuse it with many things, I vividly remember instances in life when life meant eating, sleeping and playing. We eagerly waited for the chance to execute all these steps, never quite understanding what it stood for. And as I progress deep into the realms of real ‘Life’, I can’t help but smirk at how ignorant about the meaning of life I was. The journey of life is a complex tapestry interwoven by a master craftsman whose skill is beyond the unimaginable capability ever seen. Life stands for many things, some we know, and some we don’t have the least inkling about. More than everything we’ve ever encountered, never questioning it, ever living it to the fullest. Many progress in what they are doing, some falter, some make it big in it. Life can best be described by the word ’game’. Why? Life is a game, we ask it for oranges, and it gives us m...

Forgiveness

When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for  work so he asked the wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. The mother, preoccupied in the kitchen, totally forgot the matter.  The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle and, fascinated with its color, drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed, the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just four words. A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the apple of their eyes. What do you think were the four words? The husband just said "I Love You Darling" The husband's totally unexpected reaction is proactive behavior. The ...

When I Have Fears the I May Cease to Be

When I have fears that I may cease to be Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain, Before high-piled books, in charact'ry, Hold like rich garners the full-ripen'd grain; When I behold, upon the night's starr'd face, Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance, And feel that I may never live to trace Their shadows, with the magic hand of chance; And when I feel, fair creature of an hour! That I shall never look upon thee more, Never have relish in the faery power Of unreflecting love;--then on the shore Of the wide world I stand alone, and think, Till Love and Fame to nothingness do sink

Remembrances

Summer pleasures they are gone like to visions every one And the cloudy days of autumn and of winter cometh on I tried to call them back but unbidden they are gone Far away from heart and eye and for ever far away Dear heart and can it be that such raptures meet decay I thought them all eternal when by Langley Bush I lay I thought them joys eternal when I used to shout and play On its bank at 'clink and bandy' 'chock' and 'taw' and ducking stone Where silence sitteth now on the wild heath as her own Like a ruin of the past all alone When I used to lie and sing by old eastwells boiling spring When I used to tie the willow boughs together for a 'swing' And fish with crooked pins and thread and never catch a thing With heart just like a feather- now as heavy as a stone When beneath old lea close oak I the bottom branches broke To make our harvest cart like so many working folk And then to cut a straw at the brook to have a soak O I nev...

You are The Best

Nobody like you, there's nobody like you I've never been so sure about anything   This isn't like me, what's going on?   And I've never been more aware of anything   But I know it's real 'cause every time Every time you're around me   I get everything tangled up inside me   And it's so hard to breathe   But I want you to know   Baby, you're the best part of me, yes, you are   The best,  I finally know   The best, wanna let it show   Baby, you're the best part of me   The best,  I finally know   The best, wanna let it show Wanna show you off, let me show you off   Gotta show you off, to the world   You're my heartbeat, to the world   You make my heart beat Wanna show you off, let me show you off   Gotta show you off to the world   You're my heartbeat, to the world   You make my heart beat   I'm only half of me without you here   Yo...

"Love and make me feel Special." Respect me in Return then.

Most women often say," I just want someone to love me, to make me special, to make me the most important one in his life." No one seizes on these words and accuses women of being prima donnas or egomaniacs as Dr Eggerichs puts it in his book Love & Respect . Yet when a man says he needs to be respected, he is often labelled, especially in our culture, as arrogant. In the days of courtship, the woman may think that her suitor is motivated to ask her out and more so to be his partner because of her love. After all, love is what is motivating her. That huge love and admiration in her for her man. But more than she realizes, it is her unique and intimate admiration that wins her man's heart. The old saying puts it: "Every man does what he does for admiration of one woman." In courtship times, when he asked her out, she became that woman and he took it meekly and out of his own heart to gain that courage to express his feelings. He felt deep feelings of lo...

Men hate Criticism

Men interpret criticism as contempt, and contempt is something men do not handle well. Ladies must grasp that their men aren't half as big and strong and impervious to being hurt as they might seem. A woman may envision herself as a sweet little dewdrop and her man as a big, strong bear who should be able to absorb any kind of punishment. One huge fellow was stunned by his beloved's outburst and attack and said to her,"You hate me." Frustrated, she replied,"When I scream 'I hate you,' you should know i don't mean it. You are 6'9"" and weigh 260 pounds, for goodness' sake. I do that because you can take it." The truth is, however, a lot of men can't take it. No matter how big they may be physically, emotionally they are vulnerable to what sounds like contempt. This means that, men need to feel respected during conflict more than they need to feel loved. This does not mean men do not need love.
