Keep Walking.

Every instance has a beginning and to some extent an end. A seed is planted, it takes root, sprouts, blooms, gives forth fruit or seed then withers away having touched the world as we know it, even if it's for a second. This can be said about us as human beings. At the end of the day, it is crucial to be proud of who we have become, even if it's for the tiniest bit. Be proud of the love you gave, of the way you risked your heart despite the pain it had been through. Be proud of the effort you show those you care about and love. Show up with a ruthless certainty that you did all you could.  That you showed up and made people feel seen, that you made those around you feel a little bit less alone, that you eased their burdens just a little bit. Be proud of your life, the way you healed, of the way you learned from mistakes even when it wasn't comfortable. The way you push yourself to be a better person.  At the end of the day, the most important thing is being able to say with...

The Power of Closure.

The most neglected character in human nature is perhaps, the simplest, but a little-understood situation that has stunted growth in past and present interactions; Closure. Closure relegates the feeling of rejection with the sense of acknowledgment as to why something one-sided took place. That "bad situation" often involves a one-sided break-up where the person terminating the relationship has not acted compassionately, decently, or even humanely in the aftermath. In an attempt to renounce accountability and guilt, he or she refuses to give a former partner closure, causing the rejected person tremendous pain and distress. We often fall back on the notion that only you can give yourself closure perhaps because it's an easy way out for the person who has been broken up to have the perception of control in a situation where realistically none exists. This premise essentially holds some truth: We are all given the responsibility of taking care of our own lives. Finding cl...

Pick a Side.

Don't lose yourself trying to chase on things that will make you miss out on having meaningful social circles and living life itself. We often jump on short-term niceties that whip us towards impactful lividness; actions that leave scars visible for a long while, some even for the remainder of life itself. He has questioned himself for quite a while now. As it turns out, not everything that he'd wished for has happened to him. There's good to life, but to him living it, has been the greatest undoing of his personality. He's had to let go, of some of his innate traits, and embraced fresh ones.  There's a bit of grace with each rising day, where rays of sunshine light up darker days, where cold breeze washes away hot humid feels of life. Rising tides, that washes ashore beautiful shells and rewrites footprints over the sand. It exemplifies renewal; a reset of time itself, to bring forth new things. There is faith where the heart yearns; peace where joy lies.  A story ...

Learning the ropes.

A reset is something that hits you when you least expect it. Just like sickness, it knocks at your door at odd hours, bringing with it a period of great adjustments and shifts.  A bit of a background story, a couple of weeks ago, I was reading an anecdote by Norman Vincent Peale (the father of positive thinking) where the author posits that one should change their thoughts if they wish to change the world.  This got me thinking; all those instances where I have seen people on the streets or in restaurants in seemingly boisterous conversations and showing broad smiles unassumingly made me think that they might be living life happier than mine. I assumed that they were happier than me or even smarter than me. Instances are rife where we sit in our little apartments imagining what it would be like to be someone else.  That feeling that we often behold that everyone around you seems to be doing better than you, or the one where we feel that piles upon piles of decks are stack...

The Wake of Past-times.

Perhaps, the greatest thing life’s got to offer is lessons. A pause to think, all things good and bad are constant. Its either one or the other; no middle ground. But, the lessons gleaned from each relies on how much one takes into consideration. Just the thought of it matters. There are people in this world, whose main aim is to muddy the waters of settled seas. One can imagine, why don’t they just take a swim, rinse off and feel the bliss of cooling off; why make the lives of others miserable? To this end, I have never gotten an answer. A beautiful flower that blossoms on the side of the road face the wrath of decrepit passersby. You have to have a strong will to survive the waves of the current world; where friends are willing to buy you an expensive bottle of booze but hesitate when it comes to contributing to some good cause. One has seen people who feel so bad when they see others prosper. Shreds of sly hatred that poison the well of love. It is said, to "look with the eyes ...

Coming Home to Roost.

Where light first shone, To thine eyes when I made the first squeak. The first whimper,  that sharp cry, piercing the silent dusk, when birds flew home to nest, And the goats and cows trudged back to their pens, The distant sounds of the local mill,  The heartful moos of the calves calling for their mothers Ooh, the sounds of a time long gone. Little thine spirit, how life seeped into my new form, To the beguiling chants of the womenfolk... Bubbling with joy, the silent whispers of prayer, And the welcoming of a new born into the world. The day, thine tiny hands held onto new fold, The start of a ticking time pouring in to a sum of old, Those black tiny eyes, staring at a vast  expanse, New and fresh to every feel,  Then a squeak, a cough and a shrill cry marking a grand entry. Our birth relieves sleep forgotten: The Soul that rises with us, our Life's guide, Hath had elsewhere its setting, And cometh from afar: Not in entire heedlessness, And not in utter bareness, ...

The Path of partnered joy.

If you ever want to appreciate the joys of living a rather calm way of life, then in all that comes with and for it, be truthful to yourself.       We walk many paths with all the niceties, soft grounds, but amidst them are uncertainties and thorns. Be it tangible, good, bad or otherwise, they all count to as a means to an end. Quantum physics explains what has been used as a brilliant metaphor albeit as a literary perfection using the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle; “You can never simultaneously know the exact position and the exact speed of an object’. Uncertainty is often explained as a result of measurement, that the act of measuring an object, changes its speed or vice versa; the real origin is much deeper and intriguing.      “Joy and woe are woven fine.” William Blake’s line from the poem “ Auguries of Innocence ” elegantly and simply nibbles from the same kernel of wisdom. For what better way to put it but call i...
